Charles S. Crow III, Partner

Charles S. Crow III

Mr. Crow has over 30 years of experience as an attorney practicing in the area of alternative investments. He is the founding partner of the Firm, which traces its roots to 1981 when he left a large firm in Newark, New Jersey to start the office in Princeton. Mr. Crow has experience in various aspects of domestic and international law with emphasis on corporate, transactional and finance issues. Throughout his career, he has represented hedge funds and commodity pools and their investment managers.

Mr. Crow serves on the Boards of several prominent hedge funds, funds of funds, both public and private, as well as one mutual fund. Additionally, he was a founding shareholder and longtime Board member of 1st Constitution Bank, Cranbury, New Jersey. He has acted as Chairman of the Board since 2006 and had previously chaired the Audit Committee and the Loan and Investment Committee before becoming Chairman. Mr. Crow's charitable interests include being a member of the Board of Trustees for Centurion Ministries, Inc. in Princeton, New Jersey, a nondenominational non-profit group seeking release of wrongfully convicted persons serving time for crime they did not commit. In the past, Mr. Crow has served on the Boards of the Starfish Foundation for Children with AIDS, Inc. and a New Jersey based orchestra.

Mr. Crow holds a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University, where he was a member of the Law Review. His undergraduate work was done at Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York.

David P. Cushing, Partner

David P. Cushing

Mr. Cushing has over 15 years of experience as an attorney in the financial services industry. He joined the firm in 1999. Mr. Cushing focuses on counseling clients in respect of the structuring of private investment funds and assisting with regulatory matters in the United States.

Prior to joining Crow & Cushing, Mr. Cushing worked as in in-house counsel at Prudential Financial and held positions in the legal and compliance departments of Prudential’s securities and insurance divisions. Mr. Cushing received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1996 and a B.A. from St. Lawrence University in 1991.

Mark D. Schorr, Of Counsel

Mark D. Schorr

Mr. Schorr counsels clients in the financial services industry on a wide range of matters, including regulatory and employer-employee relations. He represents clients in arbitrations before a wide range of dispute resolution forums. Mr. Schorr also has more than 30 years’ experience in administrative law and in representing university faculties, faculty members and administrators.

Before joining Crow & Cushing in 2008, Mr. Schorr was a partner in a prominent New Jersey law firm where he litigated commercial cases, including securities-related matters. Prior to his time in private practice, Mr. Schorr was a Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Schorr has served on the boards of a number of charitable and non-profit organizations, including Prevent Blindness New Jersey and the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools. Mr. Schorr earned a J.D. from the Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Seton Hall Law Review. He received a B.A., magna cum laude, from Rutgers University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Francis G. Tanczos, Partner

Francis G. Tanczos

Mr. Tanczos joined the firm in 2011 and focuses on counseling clients working in the financial services and money management industry. Mr. Tanczos has experience in a variety of areas, including hedge funds, corporate organization and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Crow & Cushing, Mr. Tanczos served as a legal extern for Hon. Karen M. Williams, USMJ, of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and worked for ITSSD, a non-profit Princeton-based think tank on international trade.

Mr. Tanczos received a J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Law Review. Mr. Tanczos received a B.S., magna cum laude, and an M.A. concentrating in International Economics from Seton Hall University.
